Grain size: 0,6-1,2mm / Chemical composition: SiO2 99% (Silica) It does not influence water parameters, and does not change the Gh, Kh, Ph values. The naturally sand is perfect for all types of aquariums.
Especially recommended for aquariums of Tanganyika and Malawi type, where its colour is an excellent background for the fauna of these biotopes. Natural sand whith micro and macro elements to be sifted trough gills. The fish that inhabit these lakes do not live in the ooze (up to 0.5mm) but in the sand 0.5< which also allows the gills to be cleaned.
This substrate ensures very good rooting and rapid growth as well as attractive appearance of plants.
100% NATURAL. Every owner of underwater pets knows that decorations and aquarium substrates not only look nice, but also affect the environment of our fish. That is why it should be ensured that most of them are natural. If the substrate is too bright, the light rays reflected from it may have a bad effect on the fish's well-being.
Our Silica Sand is not artificially coloured, therefore it looks very natural. Due to the water and heat treatment at high temperatures the substrate is clean, dry and ready to use. Will not require rinsing before use. After pouring out the substrate into the aquarium and covering it with water, a natural cloudiness may occur, which will disappear very quickly after starting the filtration. You can rely on our experience. Buy sand from companies that specilise in aquarium substrates.
In order to create a 4-5 cm thick layer of substrate in an aquarium of a given bottom length the following is needed:
30cm / 1ft = 5-7kg
60cm / 2ft = 10-15kg
80cm / 2.6ft = 15-20kg
100cm / 3.3ft = 25-30kg
120cm / 4ft = 30-35kg
150cm / 5ft = 50-60kg
200cm / 7ft = 80-90kg
Please note that the total weigh of a bags may vary +/- 2%
